Sally Henkel is a native Kentuckian who spent her formative years around Appalachia collecting salamanders and exploring creek beds. After completing her degree in Vermont, Sally moseyed west to Montana. There she worked as a field instructor and researcher in Yellowstone, a wolverine citizen scientist, a teacher, and an outdoor guide. Two years ago she fell in love with the Grand Canyon on an impromptu river trip, and her love for the landscape brought her to the Trust. She’s passionate about teaching science and connecting people to the landscape. Sally is looking forward to exploring the Colorado Plateau and finding home in a new ecosystem.
