Gayatri is a geography and urban planning student at Arizona State University. She fell in love with Arizona's plains and mountainscapes after moving from Maryland, where she would explore the woods for hours as a child. She is an aspiring writer, geographer, and environmental advocate with an interest in cultural conservation and community organizing.
In 2018, Gayatri became a Doris Duke Conservation Scholar and spent two months learning about the history, people, and landscapes of the Colorado Plateau. She fell in love again. Currently, she is working on cultural and environmental conservation in the Grand Canyon.
