King's Bottom Campground

Description

King’s Bottom Campground is 3 miles from downtown Moab, making it an ideal basecamp for your next adventure. Explore Canyonlands National Park during the day, treat yourself to dinner at a local restaurant in the evening, and return to your campsite for a night under the stars.

This campground sits on the banks of the Colorado River, and each site features views of the beautiful canyon walls. The Bureau of Land Management has worked to remove invasive plants along the river corridor, which means you get better views of the muddy river. Cottonwood and willow trees separate the sites and give you some privacy.

While each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, the campground has no water. You must bring your own; water is available at Lion’s Park (intersection of Hwy 191 and UT 128) near the pedestrian bridge dedication plaque, or at Gearheads Outdoor Store in downtown Moab.

Directions

From the visitor center in Moab, Utah, drive south on Main Street for about 5 blocks. When you reach a stoplight near McDonald’s, turn right onto Kane Creek Blvd. Keep left at the intersection with 500 W, and continue following the road as it bends left at the Colorado River. King’s Bottom Campground is about three miles down Kane Creek Blvd on the right side of the road.
