Need information about Grand Staircase-Escalante? Stop at the Kanab Visitor Center
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is vast, remote, and isolated. Planning a trip there can be intimidating if you don’t already know the area. The Kanab Visitor Center, also the monument’s headquarters, is a great place to talk to staff, ask questions, and learn about the local geology and archaeology.
In addition to its bookstore, the visitor center features a topographical relief model of the monument, archaeology exhibits, and a geologic cross section mural. Be sure to ask for maps, recent road conditions, and weather reports.
