At the time of her internship, Stacie was a junior pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Her passion for the Southwest and the people who call it home has driven her to work with several organizations across the Las Vegas valley, including The Shade Tree women’s shelter, Three Square Food Bank, and the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. As a Doris Duke Conservation Scholar, Stacie assisted researchers on restoration projects throughout the Colorado Plateau. She has written features for the Las Vegas Review-Journal as well as her school’s newspaper, The Rebel Yell. When she is not writing or working, Stacie enjoys reading and traveling with loved ones.
