Paul Bindel discovered the Trust as he was packaging coffee at a local coffee shop to send to the Trust Homestead. From 2012-2013, he worked as an AmeriCorps member in the Volunteer Program leading trips across the Colorado Plateau. He gained an appreciation for a variety of people and organizations – botanists, Native activists, farmers, federal employees, volunteers, and more – through these trips. He was most intrigued by the environmental justice work the Native America Program does. Paul’s hopes and dreams for the future of conservation are that the movement becomes more intersectional and inclusive, and he hopes to help by community organizing and teaching. Paul is an artist and loves artistic expression in nature, so you’d likely find him discovering the unique acoustics of sandstone canyons by performing musical numbers in Paria Canyon.
