Marcy joined the Trust as an undergraduate student from the Honors College at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas, where she majored in Earth and Environmental Science with a minor in Biology. On campus, Marcy worked in a research lab and studied the desiccation tolerance of Timmiella moss under various environmental conditions and stressors. Through the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at Northern Arizona University, she collected data and co-authored a technical report on bison effects on wetlands and meadows of Grand Canyon National Park. Marcy’s interests include plant biology, restoration ecology, malacology, urban agriculture, and raising public awareness of conservation issues. In her spare time, she is an avid reader and participates in collegiate ballroom dance competitions and social dances. Her passion for the natural world knows no bounds!
