Cameron was first introduced to the Southwest through travels with Whitman College’s Semester in the West program. During this semester, he spent a day in the La Sal Mountains outside Moab, Utah monitoring impacts of non-native mountain goats and decided to extend the work into research for an undergraduate thesis. He collaborated with the Forest Service on alpine vegetation monitoring during his summer internship at the Trust. Aside from goat-busting he enjoys sitting in rivers, baking pies, and black coffee.
