Oak Creek Campground may not be a destination in and of itself, but this small campground along UT 12 serves as a great basecamp for exploring nearby Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Capitol Reef National Park.
Sites are spread out in an upper and lower section of the campground, and aspen and ponderosa pine trees offer some privacy. While the campground is close to the highway, traffic noise is mostly masked by the babbling Oak Creek just to the south. Oak Creek, along with several other creeks and lakes on Boulder Mountain, offer fishing opportunities—be sure to bring your waders, fishing poles, and bait.
Note: The Forest Service does not recommend bringing trailers over 20 feet into the campground.
