Kodachrome Basin Campground

Camp in the technicolor rocks that give Kodachrome Basin Campground its name

Basin campground, located in Kodachrome Basin State Park, is surrounded by the colorful soils and sandstone spires that give this state park its name. A few of the sites are at the base of an Entrada Sandstone butte that provides both a visual treat and a nearby spot to relax on sandstone and watch the setting sun illuminate the pink, white, and gray hills. A tall monolithic spire called a “pipe” is visible from all the sites. Juniper trees and piñon pines provide shade during the summer when temperatures can climb to 100 degrees.

The campground facilities are remarkably clean and well maintained. A small convenience store with basic supplies, and climate-controlled cabins with full baths and hot showers, are located a quarter mile from the campground.

Also within the park is Bryce View Campground, which offers 11 reservable sites, is open year-round, and has great views of Bryce Canyon. The smaller Arch Campground has 6 reservable sites and is open all year.
