Drinks Canyon Campground

Description

Play hard during the day, and come back at night to rejuvenate on the banks of the Colorado River. Drinks Canyon Camping Area is similar to the other BLM campgrounds on UT 128. It’s modest; you must bring your own water (available at Lions Park at the intersection of Hwy 191 and UT 128), and pack out your trash. Dumpsters are available at Big Bend and Goose Island campgrounds.

Campsites are first-come, first-served, so plan on arriving early in the day to stake out your spot. The campground fills quickly, especially during the peak season (April, May, and October).

Directions

From the visitor center in Moab, Utah, drive north on Hwy 191 for about 2.5 miles. At the junction with UT 128 at Lions Park, turn right onto UT 128 and follow the Colorado River for 6 miles. Look for three entrances, all on your left, that lead to Drinks Canyon Camping Area. There are no road signs that indicate where the campgrounds are; the first unmarked pull off leads to Lower Drinks, the second to Middle Drinks, and the third to Upper Drinks.
