Bears Ears National Monument Petition
Bears Ears National Monument protects one of the most significant cultural landscapes in the United States. Its canyons, mountains, and meadows hold thousands of cultural places and areas of profound spiritual significance. Show your support for Bears Ears by signing the petition.
Petition
Bears Ears National Monument was designated at the request of the five tribes of the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition — The Hopi Tribe, Navajo Nation, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Zuni Tribe, and Ute Indian Tribe of Uintah and Ouray Reservation — to protect their ancestral lands. The tribes work with the federal government to collaboratively manage the monument.
Designated in 2016, the monument protects thousands of years of human history, including dwellings and villages, granaries, and petroglyphs from looting and destruction. Bears Ears is more than just a collection of archaeological sites or an outdoor museum; it is a vibrant living cultural landscape from earth to sky.
71% of Utah voters support keeping Bears Ears as a national monument and 81% support keeping the agreement that allows tribes to help manage Bears Ears.
Please add your name to the petition to show Utah’s elected officials, the president, and the federal government that the public supports:

- Protecting wildlife habitat for bears, bighorn sheep, elk, mountain lions, and hundreds of other species
- Honoring the cooperative agreement with tribal nations that allows tribes to help manage their ancestral lands
