Our goals for renewable energy projects in Native America

The goals of the Grand Canyon Trust’s Native America program are...

  • To position the Shonto Rural Renewable Energy Company as a model business that addresses the need for a locally based retailer, installer, and trainer of top-quality renewable energy systems.
  • To maximize the ownership potential of Native communities in larger renewable energy projects.
  • To ensure that incentives are available to tribes and tribal members for developing and investing in renewable energy. These incentives should be comparable to those available to others off-reservation
