Green River Campground

Camp in Dinosaur National Monument at the Green River Campground

The Green River Campground sits on the banks of its namesake river, offering beautiful views of calm water and rugged cliffs. Cottonwood trees shade the campground, and sagebrush infuses the air with a spicy scent. If you arrive early, you might be able to snag a campsite with river access.

Campsites are spread out in three loops, and each one accommodates both tents and RVs. The campground accepts reservations from May through September, and is first-come, first-served in April and October.

Green River Campground is a perfect basecamp to use while exploring the Utah side of Dinosaur National Monument. It’s a few miles from the famous Quarry Exhibit Hall, where you can see over 1,500 dinosaur bones and imagine what the Jurassic Age landscape looked like. Nearby hiking trails include the River Trail, which links Green River Campground to Split Mountain Campground, Sound of Silence Trail, Desert Voices Trail, and Fossil Discovery Trail. Be sure to stop at the visitor center to get the most out of your stay at Dinosaur!
