Cedar Mesa Campground

If you’re looking for a quiet campground without the crowds, head to Cedar Mesa Campground in Capitol Reef National Park

Cedar Mesa Campground is a small, primitive campground located in a remote section of Capitol Reef National Park.

The campground borders the Waterpocket Fold, a slanted ridge of multi-hued sandstone that is the defining feature of the park. To the east, you see the Henry Mountains rising in the distance.

Each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit, as well as access to the campground pit toilet. No reservations are accepted, and campsites are first-come first-served. A trail to Red Canyon leads from the campground into a large box canyon (4.5 mile round-trip).

Note: This campground has no water, be sure to bring your own!
