By donating your gently used gear, housewares, and other miscellaneous items to Flagstaff’s Full Circle Trade & Thrift this October, you can support our Youth Initiative’s mission to help local students discover conservation on the Colorado Plateau!
Each month, Flagstaff’s Full Circle Trade & Thrift chooses nonprofit partners and donates all proceeds from that month’s sales to those organizations.
This October, the Grand Canyon Trust’s Youth Initiative and Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth are the chosen recipients of this funding!
The proceeds from our month will help the Trust run five volunteer trips for Flagstaff-area students. These trips engage young people in conservation and give them life-changing experiences out on iconic Southwestern landscapes.

2. RED DOOR AUCTION
We are looking for big ticket items to auction off at the Red Door Auction, held on October 3 at Full Circle. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Trust and CCC&Y’s youth initiatives!

I was fortunate to be one of the staff leaders on a recent volunteer trip with Ft. Lewis College. With the help of our community partners, we prepped fields for planting, pruned orchards, and dug ditches in Moenkopi and Tuba City. We explored the interplay between industry and traditional agriculture with a visit to Lake Powell and a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam. We learned about the power demands of the Southwest and the complex history of the Black Mesa coal that fueled its growth. As one student reflected on his time with us:
I’m especially grateful to the Trust, whose focus on the real stories of the Colorado Plateau, its people, and its challenges energized our passion for conservation, justice, and change. I was honored to participate in even a small part of their vision for an ecologically healthy, connected world.
The Trust’s Youth Initiative is committed to building the next generation of conservation leaders who will advocate for change and a more sustainable future for the Colorado Plateau. We need a cohort of young, impassioned activists to carry the movement forward, and we need our communities resilient, standing behind them.
Our partnership with Full Circle directly benefits Flagstaff-area youth, and we need your help to make the most of our month!
*Full Circle Trade & Thrift’s mission is to provide a locally sustainable funding source for creative, collaborative, and results-oriented nonprofits. The thrift store was envisioned and created as a “closed-loop” model of giving, sharing, and receiving, allowing for the Flagstaff community to sustain programs that promote the arts, education, recreation, and social services.
The federal government will determine if the charismatic blue bird should be listed as threatened or endangered.
