Grand Canyon Trust has helped restore degraded forests of the Colorado Plateau for nearly a decade.
We work in several arenas and use diverse strategies to protect and restore Colorado Plateau forests. Our conservation program entails:
- Policy analysis and advocacy
- Collaborative, on-the-ground restoration
- State and region-wide collaborative leadership
- Forest protection campaigns, when necessary
Common to these efforts is the need to forge reciprocal relationships between the Plateau’s human communities, native biological diversity, and future generations thereof. From community-based collaboration to national-level policy advocacy, we bring the best available information into forest management and policy in order to sustain the ecosystems and biological diversity upon which society ultimately depends.
We focus our restoration efforts on the ponderosa pine forests of the southern Colorado Plateau, the region’s most expansive and endangered forest type.
