Our goals for the “three forests” in southern Utah

Download reportsThe Grand Canyon Trust’s work focuses on the Dixie, Fishlake, and Manti-La Sal National Forests, which are located in southern Utah. We work to encourage forest management that:

  • Restores healthy populations of native species and the natural resilience of ecosystems

  • Gathers and uses objective, repeatable field data and other scientific information on previously neglected species and conditions on the forests

  • Welcomes the alternatives and field observations / measurements that diverse public members bring to forest decision-making

  • Takes particular care of water for the forests and future generations
